David Cordova, 79

Garcia resident David Cordova, 79, passed away April 26, 2018 at his home under Hospice care with his loving family by his side. David was born on January 31,1939 in San Luis, Colorado, the son of Filimon Cordova and Silverita Archuleta Cordova. David was united in marriage to Wanda Pierson on March 26, 1960 and the two shared a long and happy union until his passing. David was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed farming, caring for his pets, cruising in his truck and spending as much time as he could with family and friends. He also had a passion for eating his wife’s cooking, her cakes and cinnamon rolls were his favorite.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Cordova of Garcia, CO; daughters DeAnn (Eddie) Arellano of Garcia, CO; Stacy Cartier of Pueblo, CO; sons Tim (Annette) Cordova of Grand Island, NB; Rodney (Olympia) Cordova of Garcia, CO; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Gloria Pacheco of Garcia, CO; Cheryl Esquivel of Denver, CO; sister-in-law Kathy Cordova of Denver, CO; brothers Chris (Kim) Cordova, Benito (Peggy) Cordova and Willie (Phyllis) Cordova all of Denver, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents Filimon and Silverita Cordova, son Davy Cordova, brother Edwin Cordova and great-granddaughter Serenity Gonzales.

Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church in San Luis. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM also at the Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the Garcia Cemetery.
