David E Shoemaker

SAN LUIS — David E Shoemaker who passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia on May 18, in Colorado Springs. He was born in San Francisco in 1933.

David leaves: his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Sunshine; son-in-law, Terry Possehl; his grandchildren, Heather Fenstermacher and Christopher Possehl; and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves many loving friends who stood by him during this horrific illness.

David was employed 25 years at UC Berkeley, as head of the printing department. He was a lifetime member of The Graphic Arts Union. He had a duel job as a piano technician -- specializing in player pianos, organs and orchestrions. He was a lifetime member of Amica and gave seminars at conferences, on in-depth player and Orchestrion Repair.

He also tuned for many years in the valley. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints San Luis branch. Gravesite services at the family home by invitation. Thank you to all who supported our family in this trying time.
