LA JARA —  Dwayne M. Martinez, 51, passed away at his home on Friday May 22nd, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Dwayne was born on August 20th, 1968 to Joe and Mercy Martinez in La Jara, CO. On July 7th, 2008 he married the love of his life, Valerie.

Dwayne is survived by his wife Valerie; mother Mercy; siblings Danny (Velma) Martinez of Farmington, NM, Judy (John) Jauriqui of Grand Junction, CO, Leon Martinez of La Jara, CO, Renee (Curtis) Little of Grand Junction, CO, Ray (Josephine) Martinez of La Jara, CO, Johanna (Jess) Barela of Alamosa, CO, Sid Martinez, Lourdes (Fred) Gemoya, and Theresa Sena; and godson Darron Barela, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Joe B. Martinez; brothers Clyde and Tommy Martinez; niece Justine Little; and nephews Nicholas Martinez and Fernando Lopez III.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday May 27th, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos at 10 AM with burial to follow at the La Jara Cemetery. A viewing will be held the night before at Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa on Tuesday May 26th, 2020 from 5-7 PM with the Recitation of the Rosary after.
