CAPULIN — Eleanor Claudina Velasquez, 97, Capulin, Colo., born Nov. 9, 1921-passed away Oct. 8, 2019. Softly and tenderly Jesus was calling, come home, come home. On Oct. 8 at about 12:22 p.m. So peacefully she went to sleep here at home on this earth and her spirit passed into her eternal home, into the arms of her savior, Jesus, the one who died for her. She was born to Enrique Maez and Manuelita Gallegos. Her siblings, whom she loved so much. Elifoncita, Espidiana, Adolfo, Mike (died at a young age, but she never forgot him), Lucia, Orosia, Onofre and Lorenzo. They all proceeded her in death. In June 1940, she married the love of her life, Epimenio Velasquez and the two became as one flesh, till his death in August 2000, they were together 60 years. In 1941, she had her first child, Erasto (Helen), Gloria (died at 8 months), Delbert (Louise), Betty Doyle (Duaine-deceased), Kathy Ortiz (Rudy), Lenora Studer and Darlene Velasquez. Grandchildren: All Velasquez, except mentioned. Lenny (Shannon), Gloria Mefford (Marty), Pete, Lauriene (Alfonzo), Delbert (Agaleen), Lisa (Luis), Duanna Doyle, Duane Doyle, Stephan Curtis Doyle, Kimberlee Doyle (Steve), Marcus Ortiz (Deedee), Tache Ortiz, Jonah Ortiz, Carrol Robinson (Barbara), Joshua Jacobs and Nicole Ruiz (Guby). Twenty great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Some of mom’s favorite things to do: First, spending time with her family whom she loved so dearly, her children, her siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Going to church, singing, worshiping God, eating out (vanilla ice cream, yum), fishing, quilting, playing cards (canasta), telling jokes, dancing and laughing.
