ANTONITO — Freddie M. Salazar, 76, passed away June 20, 2019 at the Bear Creek Nursing Home with his loving family by his side. Freddie was welcomed into the world on Sept. 12, 1942 in Antonito, the son of Genevieve Salazar. Freddie loved going fishing, telling jokes and stories and being in the mountains. He was a friend to all and he will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his sisters Dolores Lopez, Bernadette (Urban) Atencio both of Denver. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Freddie was preceded in death by his mother Genevieve Salazar, brothers Clifford Montoya and Bernard Montoya.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday, June 28, at 11 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to each service.
