ALAMOSA — Isaac “Spanky” Romero, 38, went to his eternal rest on Sept. 1, 2019. Isaac was welcomed into the world on July 13, 1981 in California, the beloved son of Gilbert Flores Romero and Frances Ramos Romero. Gilbert was an exceptional and loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking for his family, being the jokester of the bunch, going camping, collecting rocks and traveling. His greatest joy in life came from the time he was able to spend with his children, nieces and family. His time here with us was not long enough, but Isaac left an impression on everyone he met that will last a lifetime.

He will live on through his mother Frances Romero of Imperial, Calif.; daughter Brandy Romero of Denver; sons Isaac Romero Jr., of Denver; Devin Romero of Alamosa; mother of his children Anita Rivera of Denver; brother A.B. (Drea) Romero of Alamosa; Nick Romero of Colorado Springs;  sisters Rosalie Romero of Colorado Springs; Annabelle (Hector) Cardenas of Highland, Calif. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Isaac was preceded in death by his father Gilbert Romero, son Aaron William Romero, brother Aaron Romero, stepmother Bernadine Romero as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. also at River of Life Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
