Lifelong Alamosa resident Joann Peña, 46, passed away December 11, 2018 in Pueblo, Colorado. Joann was born on October 29, 1972 in Rupert, Idaho; the daughter of Jesus and Oralia Peña. Joann loved to read and spend time with her family. She was always a friend to everyone and was the first to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one. She was always laughing, and her laugh was contagious. Joann was only here with us for a short time, but in that time she left an impression on everyone she met and she will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her daughters Melissa Peña of Rupert, ID; Chloe Peña of Alamosa, CO; two sisters Karla (Demetrio) Rodriguez of Alamosa, CO; Teresa (Jesus) Peña of Monte Vista, CO; brother Paul (Henrietta) Peña of Alamosa, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Oralia Peña, nieces Rosa Silva, Naomi Peña and one nephew Carlos Rodriguez.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at The Door Christian Fellowship Church in Alamosa. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
