John (Jake) Gonzales, 59, of Center Colorado went to be with the lord in the late night of May 25, 2018 comfortable at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Jake spent his whole life living by his word promising to live life doing what he wants to do.

Jake was always a happy man, giving the ones around him laughter and love. He kept his family and friends close to his heart. He was happiest when he was listening to his favorite radio station 99.1 and being an avid Broncos fan. He felt most at peace lying on the grass enjoying the evenings.

He is survived by his partner Juanita Vialpando; daughter Josanna Gonzales of Center, CO; sons Wilfred and Noel Vialpando of New Mexico; grandson Isaiah Trujillo of Abiquiu NM; granddaughter Sarah Vialpando of Abiquiu NM; brothers Louis Bernie (Betty) of Olathe; William (Angelina) of Center; Robert (Marie) of Center; Allen of Montrose; Bobby (Ardie) Nebraska; Rosalie (Rodolfo) of Center; Patricia of Center; Jeanette of Colorado Springs; Felicia Salazar of Center.

Preceded in death by his father Joe C Gonzales; mother Lucia Duran; brothers Henry Gonzales and Gabriel Gonzales, son Richard Vialpando; Sister Eva Gonzales.

We would like to give a special thanks to his nieces and nephews and friends who all visited Jake throughout his last days and helped take care and lift his spirits.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 1-4 pm at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home 205 South Broadway Monte Vista, CO 81144.

Rosary will be on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 7:00 pm at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Center CO.

Funeral Services on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Center.
