Jose G. Archuleta, 88, entered into eternal life on August 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born on April 26, 1930 in Lovatos, CO to Jose R. Archuleta and Anna F. Garcia Archuleta. He served and was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War as a Corporal. He was united in marriage to Emma B. Martinez on December 26, 1952 and the two shared a long and happy union until her passing. Jose was an exceptional and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed welding, carpentry, mechanic work, fishing, hunting, camping and the time he spent with family and friends. Jose was also a member of the American Legion. He will be dearly missed. 

Survivors include his daughters Veronica Lucero of Sanford, CO; Edith Cordova of La Jara, CO; sons Anthony C. Archuleta, Ernest B. Archuleta, Wayne V. Archuleta all of Los Sauces, CO; 16 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, sisters Gloria (Severo) Chavez of Rio Rancho, NM; Dorothy Pacheco of Pueblo, CO Brother in- law Julio Archuleta of Mancos, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Anna Archuleta, wife Emma B. Martinez, son Wilbert Archuleta, daughter Judy Joyce Archuleta, granddaughter Judy Archuleta, sisters Celia Archuleta, Rose (Willie) Gonzales, Annabel Archuleta, son in law Randy Lucero brother in-law Sonny Pacheco and one daughter-in-law Josie Samora.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in La Jara. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM also at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Interment will follow at the Gate to Heaven Cemetery in Los Sauces with full military honors.
