Former Mosca resident, Kevin Cunningham, 55, passed away on February 21, 2019 in Cañon City, Colorado. Kevin was born on January 8, 1964 to Clinton Cunningham and Margie (Heiman) Cunningham.  Kevin attended Sangre de Cristo schools and graduated in 1983.

While in high school, Kevin was a member of the Alamosa City Market family where he worked in the meat department. He spent most of his adult life in the Cripple Creek and Victor areas where he worked construction beginning with Southway Construction and ending his career self-employed.

He thoroughly appreciated living in the mountains and on his free time enjoyed arrowhead hunting, searching for turquoise and panning for gold. Outside of his construction business Kevin had a passion for automobiles and would often be found tinkering on his vehicle or helping to diagnose friend’s and family’s automobile dilemmas. Kevin’s greatest joy in life was the time he was able to spend with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather and Mason, his grandson was the apple of his eye. Kevin had a heart of gold and often went out of his way to help others and make sure everyone was taken care of.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Margie Cunningham and Clint Cunningham. He is survived by his son Chris (Julie) Cunningham and grandson Mason of Cripple Creek; sisters Kelly (Chris) Maraschin, Grand Junction and Kerri (Tyler) Kingery of Cañon City; brother Kenny Cunningham, Cañon City; step-mom Deb Cunningham, Alamosa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date. The care of arrangements have been entrusted in Holt Family Mortuary of Cañon City.

There are special people in our lives who never leave us …. even after they are gone. You’ll forever be in our hearts Kevin!
