DEL NORTE — Marlene Lillian Hernandez, age 55 of Del Norte, Colorado, passed away on October 26, 2019 with her loving family by her side.  Born in Del Norte, she was the beloved wife of Santiago “Ceferino” Hernandez and the daughter of Max and Irene (Tafoya) Lujan Jr. Prior to becoming a homemaker, Marlene worked several years as a case manager for the Rio Grande County Department of Social Services and as a case manager for the Monte Vista Estates, along with many years at Jacks Market deli.

In addition to her husband, Marlene is survived by her daughters, Mia Martinez-Molinar (Jhonathon) and Marisol Hernandez (Ben Sanchez) all of Del Norte; siblings Maxine Lujan (Monte Vista) and Max (Kristin) Lujan of Winnemucca, Nevada. She is also survived by her grandchildren and loves of her life, Xhayden LeBlanc, and Julian and Xyliana Molinar and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marlene was greeted in heaven by Her Lord Jesus Christ, her mom and dad, Sissy bug Eileen Lujan and many aunts, uncles, and brothers/sisters’ in-laws. The night of her death, only one star could be seen sitting by the moon. Her family thinks she tried to take all the stars with her, but God made her send them back.  Her selfless love and forgiveness, mercy and giving will be sorely missed by those who know and love her.

Marlene enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, playing games on her cell phone, messing with new technology, but was especially fond of, and lived for anytime she could spend with her family.

Marlene’s funeral will take place at the New Life Fellowship in Del Norte (520 Seventh St.) on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11 am followed by a Christian burial at the Del Norte Cemetery.
