CENTER — Center resident Mary Garcia, 46, went to her eternal rest on Sept. 12, 2019. Mary was born on May 1, 1973 in Monte Vista, the beloved daughter of Mary Martinez.

After high school, Mary worked as a secretary for the Sargent School District. She was an exceptional and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed dancing, reading, going on motorcycle rides, camping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest pride and joy in her life is her husband of 29 years Dan Garcia and their only child Danica.

Mary will live on through her husband Dan Garcia of Center, daughter Danica Garcia of Center, mother Mary Martinez of Center, sisters Connie Estrada, Benita Vega both of Center, Destiny (Ben) Sisneros of Alamosa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Erlinda Garcia, Aunt Darlene O’Cana, Uncle Larry Martinez and one nephew Reyes Casias.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at 7 p.m. at St. Frances Jerome Catholic Church in Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at 10 a.m. also at St. Frances Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the La Garita Cemetery.
