Ray Richard Ruse, 78

Sanford resident Ray Richard Ruse, 78, died August 18, 2018 at his home in Sanford. 

Ray was born in Lubbock, Texas on March 12, 1940 the son of Cecil R. “Jew” Ruse and Zelma Loback Harmon.  He married Kay Miller on August 27, 1965 and they enjoyed almost 53 years together.

Ray grew up and was raised in Los Alamos, New Mexico and held jobs working in the White Sands Missile Range.  Following school he took on work as a Quality Control Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry and travelled all over the world.  He also worked for Douglas Air Craft and engineered electrical components for them for a time. 

Ray loved to fish and hunt and was very talented with his hands.  He was raised in the Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and prayer warrior.  He was a god fearing man.  Ray was very grateful for his good neighbors in the Sanford area.

Ray is survived by his wife Kay Ruse of Sanford and his son Charles Ray (Julie) Ruse of San Diego, Ca; his granddaughter Stephanie Henry and his great-granddaughter Brianna Henry, both of Hobbs, NM.

Cremation was chosen and private services will be held at a later date.
