Rev. Ezequiel Rubio-Villazana

Denver former San Luis resident Rev. Ezequiel Rubio-Villazana, 76, went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2019. Ezequiel was born on July 19, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico, the beloved son of Elias Rubio and Maria Villaszna-Rubio.

He was united in marriage to Maria Elena Originales on August 27, 1966. Ezequiel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed reading, singing, playing his guitar and especially loved spending time with his family. He was passionate and devoted to serving the Lord through his church and will always be remembered for his undying faith and love for God. Ezequiel never came upon a stranger and was the first to always help anyone in need and he will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife Maria Elena Rubio of San Luis; daughters Dina L. Rubio (Joel Talamantes), Diana P. Rubio (Alberto Estrada) both of El Paso, Texas; sons Ezequiel (Susana) Rubio of Denver; Adriel (Abigail) Rubio of El Paso, Texas; Omar (Cindy) Rubio of Juarez, Mexico; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Sara Rubio-Castro of South Gate, Calif.; brothers Eliasar Rubio of Juarez, Mexico; Daniel (Virginia) Rubio of El Paso, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ezequiel was preceded in death by his parents Elias and Maria Rubio, granddaughter Merary Rubio, grandson Jonathan Estrada, sisters Ana Maria Martinez, Rebeca Rubio, Margarita Ramos, Ruth Alvarez and one brother Eliseo Rubio.

A service will be held Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at the Templo Vision Celestial Church in Denver. A Prayer Service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 6 p.m. at the Grace Chapel in San Luis. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at the River of Life Ranch located at 24208 County Road M.5, Chama.
