Susanne Elaine Corning 11/22/45-10/20/18

Susanne Elaine Corning, long time Alamosa resident and owner of Sue’s Office Service, passed away on Saturday, October 20th in Arvada, CO, surrounded by her family. Sue was born in 1945 in Fairbury, Nebraska, to Stanley and Isla Sukovaty. She was raised on a farm and loved her Huskers! She worked for the Lincoln Telephone Company before meeting her husband Gerald and moving to Colorado. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Isla Sukovaty, brothers Chuck and Bob Sukovaty and sister Roma Meyer (Larry). She is survived by her husband, Gerald Corning (longtime professor at Adams State), son Travis Corning, daughter Michelle Straight (Greg), son Blair Corning (Becky), and daughter Tammy Glasby (Trent), and 5 grandchildren who loved her dearly. Sue loved to spend time with her family and grandkids as well as antique and thrift shop. She made the best chili soup, could write up a poem, speech, or jingle within minutes and was often requested by her children to assist with home décor. Sue had a great sense of humor, a selfless heart and was full of grit. She was the heart of her family and will be missed. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Nov. 2, 2018 at St. Paul’s Community Church 8001 W. 23rd. Ave. Lakewood, CO 80214. Interment to follow at the Arvada Cemetery, Arvada, CO
