Capulin resident Teddy John Sandoval, 55, passed away February 20, 2019. Teddy was born on December 22, 1963 in Alamosa, Colorado, the son of Soloman Sandoval and Emma Ruybal Sandoval. He was united in marriage to Sophia Ortega on August 24, 1990 and the two shared a long and happy union until his passing. He was a proud member of the Capulin Fire Department. Teddy was a unique, kind and loving husband, father, uncle, cousin, brother and friend who enjoyed going fishing and camping. He was skilled with his hands and enjoyed carpentry. Teddy never knew a stranger, he was a friend to all and was always the first to help anyone in need. He loved being out on the road truck driving and spending time with his family, pets Ava, Joey and Jake and his friends. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife Sophie Sandoval of the family home in Capulin, CO; daughter Emma Sandoval of Grand Junction, CO; son Joshua Sandoval of Capulin, CO; sisters Darlene Sandoval of Denver, CO; Lillian Payan of Grand Junction, CO; brother Elude (Clara) Sandoval of Aztec, NM; nieces Angelica Miera, Naomi Gonzales, Meliza Griego, Anessa Hernandez, Lilianna Griego, nephews Alex Miera who was also his God son, Ryan Griego and his good friend Israel Medina.
Teddy was preceded in death by his parents Soloman and Emma Sandoval, in-laws Antonio and Celia Ortega, brother Raymond Sandoval, Orlando Sandoval and daughter-in-law Jadyn Quintana.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 7:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Capulin, Interment will follow at the Los Sauces Cemetery.
