We are incredibly sad to announce that Thomas Jimmy Pena Jr., 53, tragically passed away on Oct. 21, 2023. He was a very hardworking man. Before he passed, he was a devoted mechanic.

Working on cars was his passion, from building his blazers from the ground up, to painting them. He loved being outdoors, fishing or attending mud bogs to a simple ride in the mountains listening to music.

Thomas was a loved Son, Brother, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.

Thomas is survived by his sisters, Peggy (Ernie) Romero, Phyllis Gonzales, Vera Gonzales, Elaine Dominguez, brothers James Gonzales, Chris Gonzales, Nobert Gonzales. Daughters, Dayami Pena, Denesha Pena, Ashanti Pena (Damian Ramirez), Luz Aguilera (Cruz Villa), sons Cruz (Anastasia) Gurule, Jonathan (Lisa) Gurule, Joe (Kristin) Pena, David Moreno. He is also survived by Nina Joann Sierra, Nino Luis Sierra, many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and God son Isaiah Romero. He also shared a close friendship with his Ex-wife Julie Lopez Pena.

Thomas was preceded in death by, Mother Cora Pena, Father Thomas J. Pena Sr., Nephew Isaac Medina, Paternal Grandmother, Josephine Pena, Paternal Grandfather, Jose Pena, Maternal Grandfather, Aldophita Trujillo, Maternal Grandfather, Claude Trujillo.

Rosary will be on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista, Colo. Services will be held on Oct. 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Monte Vista, Colo. Burial Services to follow at the Del Norte Cemetery.
