La Jara resident Vera Hamilton, 95, passed away on March 23, 2018 at her son’s home in Monte Vista, Colorado. She was born October 31, 1922 in Alamosa, Colorado. She was the daughter of Eulys Ross Guthrie and Lucy Margaret Morris. She was united in marriage to Hugh Archie Hamilton on May 10, 1945. Vera was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her time in service to others and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Vera enjoyed playing Bridge and traveling with her family. She raised five sons on a ranch in La Jara. She is survived by her sons Morris Hamilton of La Jara, Colorado, Kenneth (Jan) Hamilton of Farmington, Utah, David (Penne) Hamilton of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Jack (Susan) Hamilton of Monte Vista, Colorado, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Archie Hamilton and her son Kelly Wayne Hamilton.

Graveside services were held at the La Jara Cemetery on March 24, 2018 with family and friends present.
