DEL NORTE — Winford O. Keeling, 96, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Del Norte, Colo. 

He was born April 5, 1923 to Bessie Mae Keeling in Elbridge, Tenn.

He owned and worked at Windy’s LP Gas with his sons. He was involved with the KP Lodge and the VFW. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 through 1945.

He enjoyed his work, gambling, farming and the great outdoors.

He is preceded by his mother; and his loving wife, Vada. 

He is survived by his children, Robert (Donna) Keeling of Del Norte, Colo., Rodney Keeling of Del Norte, Colo. and Janette Light of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Kevin (Linda) Light, Brian (Amy) Light, Kethra Keeling, Kristi (Ray) Kroeker and Joshua (Shayla) Keeling; great-grand children, Leslie Light Hilton, Joseph Light, Emily Light, Ilyas Saonaf-Keelin, Rayan Saouaf-Keeling and Syrenna Vada Keeling.

A public viewing will be held at Strohmayers Funeral Home from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Del Norte Cemetery in Del Norte, Colo.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Rio Grande Hospital in care of  Strohmayers Funeral Home.
