Halloween in SLV promises to be fun, haunting time
The annual 'Fright—Fest' sponsored by the Alamosa Police Department at the Colorado National Guard Armory was attended by over 1,000. The event is scheduled for Oct. 31.

ALAMOSA — Halloween 2023 in the San Luis Valley is gearing up to be a banner celebration of trick or treating, trunk or treating, storytelling, skating, costume contests, and more.
There are many events in Alamosa to choose from including:
Haunted House, 701 San Juan Ave., Oct. 27-28, and 31, 7-11 p.m.
Día de los Muertos, Oct. 28, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Colorado Welcome Center, Alamosa
Downtown Trick or Treating in Alamosa, Oct. 28, 1-4 p.m.
Halloween Skate Night, Oct.28, at the Alamosa ice rink located at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center, 2222 Old Stanford Rd., 5-10 p.m.
Oct. 28, Halloween Party and Costume Contest, Knee Knockers Bar and Grill Alamosa, Oct 28, 6 to 7 p.m.
The Alamosa Bicycle Coalition is hosting a Spooky Alley Cat Ride on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. Bring your costume and enjoy a terrifying afternoon. Everyone is welcome and the best costume wins a prize. The race will start at Cole Park and end at Spare Keg on Main Street.
The annual Fall Farm Festival will be held in Cole Park in Alamosa on Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Living Water Bible Fellowship, Trunk-Or-Treat, 2910 Clark St., Alamosa, on Oct. 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Haunted Hallways at SLV Health, Oct. 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. at 2115 Stewart Ave., Alamosa.
Trunk or Treat at the Early Childhood Council in Alamosa at 401 Santa Fe Ave. on Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
SLV Transportation/Red Willows will hold a Trunk or Treat, Oct. 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. Call 719-589-5734 for details.
