Oklahoma man arrested after alleged bank robbery

ALAMOSA– A 39-year-old Oklahoma man was arrested Friday after allegedly robbing San Luis Valley Federal Bank.

Mark McSherry of Tulsa, Okla. was arrested at Square Peg Brewerks in downtown Alamosa at 3:30 p.m. just an hour after he reportedly walked into SLV Federal and demanded money. Alamosa Police Department officers responded to the bank in reference to a hold up alarm.

According to APD, after the bank teller complied, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

In conjunction with the Colorado State Patrol, Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Adams State University Police Department, a canvas was completed of the surrounding area when McSherry was found at the craft brewery and was taken into custody without incident.

McSherry was transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center where he is being held on the following charges: Aggravated Robbery class 3 felony, First Degree Burglary class 3 felony, Felony Menacing class 5 felony, Felony Theft class 5 felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence class 6 felony, Reckless Endangerment class 2 misdemeanor, Disorderly Conduct class 2 misdemeanor, harassment, and a violation of restraining order.
