Virginia MJ Casados

Virginia MJ Casados, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family following a bout with cancer, on Sept. 20, 2024, in Center, Colo. Born on Feb. 24, 1945, in Monte Vista, Colo., Virginia was a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. 

Raised by her loving grandparents, Modesto and Deliah Roybal, Virginia grew up with a deep sense of family and community. She was the heart of a large and loving family, which included her children Marie (Carlos) Archuleta, Robert Casados Jr., Felix (Elaine) Casados, Elayne (Steve) Lucero, and adopted son Kregg Casados, as well as her cherished seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Virginia's siblings, Jimmy (Cora) Roybal, Floyd (Lyidia) George, Annalee Lovato, David (Anita) George, and Leroy (Sara) George. 

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly four decades, Robert P. Casados, with whom she shared a love that was the envy of all who witnessed it. She also joins her grandparents, Modesto and Deliah Roybal, her mother Corley Roybal, her brother Jerome George, and her grandson Baby Archuleta, in eternal rest. 

Throughout her life, Virginia was a devoted homemaker, pouring her love into every stitch of her crochet and diamond art. Her knitting, embroidery, and vibrant gardens were a testament to her meticulous care and attention to detail. Virginia's home was a welcoming haven where laughter, storytelling, and the joy of spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will not be forgotten. 

Those who knew Virginia will remember her for her loving nature, her generous spirit, and her thoughtful presence. She was the embodiment of warmth and kindness, touching lives through simple acts of love and the unwavering support she offered to everyone around her. 

Virginia's legacy will live on in the memories she created with her family and friends, and in the countless lives she touched with her open heart and welcoming smile. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
